Chili
  • 2 lb. Lean Hamburg
  • 2 15oz. Cans Dark Red Kidney Beans (DO NOT DRAIN)
  • 2 15oz. Cans Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Large Onion, Chopped Medium Fine
  • 1 Green Pepper, Chopped Medium Fine
  • 4 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Bayleaf
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Cup Water
Over low heat, brown beef, crumbling well. Drain fat. Sprinkle meat with chili powder, salt, and sugar. Mix well. Add onion and green pepper. Mix well. Add tomato sauce, water, and bay leaf. Cover and simmer, stirring occassionally, for one hour. Remove bayleaf.

In a small bowl, mix oil and flour until smooth, stir in beans then add to meat. Cover and simmer. Stirring until heated and thickened, about 30 to 60 minutes.

Serving suggestions:
Serve with sprinkles of shredded cheddar and frito chips or crackers to dip.
